Scott is an associate focusing his practice in the representation of startup and tech clients in business and intellectual property matters.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and small business owners, Scott focuses his practice on start-ups and internet-based businesses with a special emphasis on the development and protection of the trademark and copyright assets in the 21st century. He was recently published in I/S: A Journal for Law and Policy for the InformationSociety, writing on the issue of trademark genericide over internet-based trademarks and received an award from the journal for his work.
Scott earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a B.A. in Music Business/Management from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In addition to spending several years as a web products manager for a large internet retailer, Scott toured the country playing in rock bands and continues to stay active in local music.
